The Final Project

Over the course of the MSJW program, students will work on a story of their choosing. After each workshop session, students will have the opportunity to use their new knowledge to create their final projects. At the end of the week, the teaching assistants will compile students' final project stories and create a digital newspaper issue. Students can share the link to this issue with their friends and family to showcase their work!

Sample Schedule

9:30 - 10:15

Workshop: Interviewing

Learn how to find sources and arrange interviews. Then explore how to prepare for an interview, generate questions and conduct your interview.

Writing a news story is not like essay writing. Explore different story structures, and practice integrating quotes. Participate in a friendly competition about story structure and quoting.

Final Project Work Time
